If you haven’t heard about the film, it is the true story of a podunk town in eastern Texas whose little church felt led to adopt 77 of the hardest-to-place children out of foster care between 22 families, essentially turning Possum Trot into a light on a hill, a beacon of hope for kids stuck in cycles of trauma all over the country. I know Oakhurst is ALSO a town who, in times of trouble, has the most remarkable characteristic of coming together in support of each other.
Did you know we have an acute crisis in the foster care system in this country? And that there are so many ways we can make an impact, apart from adopting and/or fostering? It’s our privilege to bring this film to you to bring awareness, and perhaps encourage you to see what you can do!
Tickets will be provided the day of showing, and if anyone feels led to donate, their ticket will be entered in to a drawing for a $25 gift card to Bee’s Bakery and Cafe after the movie. See you on the red carpet!
